Expanding Innovation: Heeter Grows Its Business by 25% by Embracing Digital and Personalization

New $4M Digital Print Center unveiling reflects Heeter’s continued business growth and customer success resulting from embracing digital solutions early

November 7, 2022 – Heeter, a full-service provider of secure print, direct mail, and fulfillment solutions, today announced the formal opening of its next-generation Digital Print Center, a $4M investment that signifies the impact its growing digital print operation is delivering for its customer base.

Serving industries such as healthcare, insurance, gaming, retail, pharmaceutical and education, Heeter has successfully transferred 60% of its operations to digital over the past 5 years. This has resulted in:

  • A 65% increase in capacity
  • 35% reduction in turnaround times
  • 25% more energy efficient
  • Over 80 new customers in the last 4 years

These results are the outcome of an evolving workforce and industry that is embracing digital as the path forward to sustained and continual growth. Heeter anticipated this shift years earlier and made significant investments in not just technology, but people as well.

Digital Print Center

Heeter opened its new Digital Print Center that features an additional 35,000 square feet of expanded printing, finishing, and mailing capabilities as well as a third Ricoh PRO VC 70000 inkjet press and a RICOH Pro C9210. Heeter is also the first company in the world to beta test Ricoh’s new B2+ cut-sheet inkjet press, the Pro Z75.

Complementing the digital print engines are:

  • Expanded roll-fed finishing that includes in-line perforation, die-cutting, folding, and gluing.
  • Enhanced mailing services with roll-fed, folding and intelligent inserting.
  • Additional perfect binding and in-line stitching capabilities

“What we’ve seen over the years is that inkjet can deliver better quality than offset, in less time and with less stress on our staff.  And thanks to the investments we’ve made, our customers are seeing it too,” said Kirk Schlecker, president of Heeter. “The print profession is evolving – we see it every day with our team and from our customers. Investments in digital are the way forward. With partners who are equally committed to the digital future and a team who is energized by its possibilities, we’re living proof of the innovation and longevity of the print industry in ways many might have doubted in the past.”

“We are in the midst of a print renaissance and that is in large part due to innovators like those at Heeter,” Gavin Jordan-Smith, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Marketing Division & RICOH Graphic Communications North America Sales, RICOH Graphic Communications. “Over the past decade we’ve all had conversations around the offset-to-digital transition, and those who invested in digital early are now reaping the benefits of what that technology can unleash.

Jordan-Smith continued, “From the beginning, we committed to partnering with Heeter for the long run, and we’re thrilled to see the results that have come and will continue to come from their dedication and laser-focus on their customers’ success today and tomorrow.”
