Key Account Manager

Job Purpose and Function

General – Primary liaison for the operation side of the key client relationship including reporting, escalation, oversight of client projects and implementations, execution of account plan activities, building and maintaining relationships with client contacts.

Key Account Specific – Support, enhance and maintain communication and organization of the Key Account/Heeter partnership. Serve as the primary point of contact for efficient two-way communication between Key Account and Heeter.

Specific Job Duties

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients to resolve outstanding issues, comply with customer requests and respond to client inquiries
  • Coordinates data collection from the clients to properly identify and compile accurate information detailing customer specifications and communicate the data to the production departments.  Will follow up by maintaining contact with the customer to assure production meets expectations
  • Basic understanding of job tickets for complex jobs. The job ticket will identify specifications, design requirements, materials used, quality expectations, quantity, delivery requirements, and schedule
  • Inspects proofs and coordinates delivery and receipt to and from the customer using couriers or the Account Executive.  Signs off/Approves proofs when necessary to assist the Account Executive and/or client
  • Monitors production processes to see that the customer’s order is being produced on schedule and according to specifications.  Communicates any concerns and changes and seeks solutions to problems with Department Managers, the Account Executives, and customers
  • Coordinate all components of monthly billing cycle
  • Work with IT Project Manager to drive and champion new technologies, collaborations, and improved processes to define, leverage and implement best standard work practices
  • Monitors inventory levels and expiration dates of products (where applicable)
  • Performs back up for other internal roles and other related duties as necessary
  • Work closely with customer and internal team to identify more efficient ways that a job could be produced
  • Serves as trusted partner to the customer when the sales person is not available
  • Provide on-site support and travel to client – Approx. estimation of at least 20%
  • Coordinate and lead weekly production meetings regarding job status from inception to post-production; provide project timelines
  • Coordinate and lead quarterly business reviews (QBR’s)
  • Understand all programs used by both Key Account and Heeter to gather necessary data to increase productivity
  • Review and interpret reports to optimize value; review past trends to offer suggestions

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work through customer needs and production issues through the use of analytical thinking, problem solving and expectations management. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate professionally in writing and phone.
  • Knowledge of marketing, marketing operations or print production process desired.
  • Ability to work and communicate with vendors, co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Effective computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word/Excel)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, handle interruptions, and modify plans as requirements dictates.
  • Ability to influence a customer’s decision-making process

Minimum Education Required:     

  • An Associate Degree in Business (Marketing, Communications, Graphic Arts, or Printing would be an asset) or the equivalent of experience

Minimum Years Experience Required     

  • 4 years previous experience in a customer service related work environment, preferably in a marketing, agency or production environment.

Press Helper

Job Purpose and Function: 

Employee to assist Operators in the set up of jobs and/ or Running Production equipment once set up and approved. Perform machine Maintenance and maintain a clean work area.  Support any area of operations as needed or directed.

Specific Duties:

  • Find and build the stock according to the ticket and schedule
  • Keep the ink fountains full at all times with ink
  • Complete all daily maintenance
  • Clean machine and surrounding area while operator is making ready

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Must be able to understand and follow operator’s Instructions.
  • Able to identify different substrates of paper

Minimum Education Required: 

  • High school diploma or GED

Minimum Years Experience Required:

Part-time Delivery Driver

Job Purpose and Function

Responsible for driving a van or box truck to deliver and pick up merchandise or packages.  Takes orders, intercepts packages occasionally, and delivers to appropriate person and obtains signature. Schedule for this position is 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. rotating 3 days one week and 2 days the next week.

Specific Duties

  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle
  • Driving a company provided vehicle, deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes within the local region
  • Maintaining a clear DMV Driving Record and Medical Employment card is required for the role
  • Follow route and time schedule
  • Obey all traffic laws

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills
  • Maintain a clear driving record and active Class C driver’s license / Medical Card
  • Demonstrated verbal communication and positive approach to work responsibilities. Able to maintain calm when in short timeframe situations.

Minimum Education Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • One (1) year of shipping experience is not required but is preferred.

Pressman

Job Purpose and Function: 

Pressman is responsible for running press machines at top quality and speed to ensure efficient operations that meet or exceed customer requirements and quality standards.  Position directs and coordinates the activities of the press crew to support operational excellence.  Monitors product quality while minimizing waste and rework. Responsible for equipment maintenance.   To meet this level of role you must demonstrate senior level experience within the work environment.

Specific Duties:

  • Performs minor repairs and also all press maintenance that needs to be done on the machine including water, roller, weekly, monthly and also housekeeping of the machine.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinates Operator and Helper roles to maintain schedule and plan for daily and weekly production needs.
  • Effectively communicates the status of jobs and machines at shift-change.
  • Cross trains on all equipment in the department.
  • Maintains and records daily clean up and housekeeping of equipment and general area.

  • Effectively utilizes job tickets to confirm the required materials and specifications for each job, matches printing to approved impositions and die lines, and matches proof and color throughout run through samples.
  • Fork lift experience preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in using software and computer systems needed to perform the role: Internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), General office equipment and management information systems (Pace).
  • Mechanical inclination with basic math and capability to convert fractural measurements to decimal.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in learning new aspects of the job, new equipment, new processes and scheduling: start times/overtime.
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced, team environment demonstrating cooperation, problem solving, customer service, creativity, flexibility and team building skills.

Minimum Education Required:   

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent.

Minimum Years Experience Required: 

  • Experience running and managing an offset press required, prefer at least 2 years demonstrated success.

Folder Operator

Job Purpose and Function: 

Set up and fold all jobs according to the specifications of the job ticket and also the proof.

Specific Duties:

  • Follow and fold according to the schedule
  • Get all jobs approved by bindery supervisor
  • Maintain high quality of the product
  • Label all jobs as needed for the next procedure
  • Make sure samples are tagged correct
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understand how each form is needed for packaging, stitching and outside vendors.

Minimum Education Required:   

  • High school diploma or GED

Minimum Years Experience Required: 

  • One year of training

Glue Folder Operator

Job Purpose and Function: 

Set up, operate and maintain glue folding equipment. Produce a quality controlled product. Perform Machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area.

Specific Duties:

  • Follow schedule and instructions from department manager and shift supervisor.
  • Read and follow instructions on job ticket
  • Set up and Running of Specific Jobs
  • While running jobs, quality inspect by making 100 sheet pulls. Inspect each one for any defects or imperfections.
  • Maintenance of glue folding equipment, glue heads and pots
  • Fill in on Other Equipment as Needed

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Operator to have a complete understanding of processes / Post Press Die cutting operations.
  • Mechanical Background Inclination. Repairs
  • Have Knowledge of Incremental Measurements SAE and Metric
  • Capable of Conversion Fractural measurements to Decimal

Minimum Education Required:   

  • High School Diploma
  • General Education Degree

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 5 years Experience in Post Press Specialty Finishing
  • Specifically Glue Folding / Glue Application Processes

Digital Binder Operator

Job Purpose and Function: 

Set up, operate and maintain various digital Bindery equipment including cutter, folder, shrink wrapper, UV coater, stitcher, padder etc. Produce a quality controlled product. Perform operator maintenance. Maintain a clean work area.

Specific Duties:

  • Follow schedule and instructions from department manager and shift supervisor. Read and follow instructions on job ticket. Correctly label finished product with the job number, form number, etc. Clearly mark all make ready and samples.
  • Conduct regular and special maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance based on equipment specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operations.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinates Operator and Helper roles to maintain schedule and plan for daily and weekly production needs.
  • Maintains and records daily clean up and housekeeping of equipment and general area.
  • Other duties as assigned and may consist of assisting a peer department, to include but not limited to, assisting in the following departments: mailing, and specialty finishing.
