Controller

JOB PURPOSE and FUNCTION:

The Controller holds a hands-on leadership role within the accounting team; he/she prepares financial statements, ensures compliance with internal controls, supports management accounting, and ensures transaction accounting is efficient and accurate.  The successful job holder will be an initiative driven professional with keen attention to detail.  He/she must be able to function independently and be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment wearing multiple hats.  This is a hands-on role that will require digging into and handling details as well as functioning at a higher level.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Lead monthly close process and review accounts in a timely manner.
    • Prepare and review monthly journal entries.
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
    • Ensures transaction accounting is efficient and accurate.
  • Provide oversight of the Accounts Payable and Receivables functions.
  • Perform daily and/or monthly treasury/banking responsibilities.
  • Prepares and analyzes financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare various other reports and analysis, both routine and ad hoc. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial models.
  • Participate in the preparation for and execution of audits.
  • In collaboration with Operations, ensure that period physical inventory counts are executed effectively.
  • Strong understanding of databases, queries and reports.
  • Skillset to become a power user for the company ERP system including an understanding of system capabilities and functionality.
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure processes and procedures are in place to support accurate recording of transactions and lead process improvements.
  • Assist with HR administration function as necessary; includes payroll and benefits administration.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain the confidentiality of personal, corporate and financial data.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Limited travel as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Possesses a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Must be highly organized – demonstrated success managing multiple tasks with laser focus on detail as well as ability to establish and meet objectives on time.

Press Operator

JOB PURPOSE and FUNCTION: 

Press Operator is responsible for running press machines at top quality and speed to ensure efficient operations that meet or exceed customer requirements and quality standards.  To meet this level of role must demonstrate senior level experience within the work environment.

The position

  • Directs and coordinates the activities of the press crew to support operational excellence
  • Monitors product quality while minimizing waste and rework.
  • Is responsible for equipment maintenance.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: 

  • Performs minor repairs and also all press maintenance that needs to be done on the machine including water, roller, weekly, monthly and also housekeeping of the machine.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinates Operator and Helper roles to maintain schedule and plan for daily and weekly production needs.
  • Effectively communicates the status of jobs and machines at shift-change.
  • Cross trains on all equipment in the department.
  • Maintains and records daily clean up and housekeeping of equipment and general area.

  • Effectively utilizes job tickets to confirm the required materials and specifications for each job, matches printing to approved impositions and die lines, and matches proof and color throughout run through samples.
  • Fork lift experience preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in using software and computer systems needed to perform the role:  Internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), General office equipment and management information systems (Pace).
  • Mechanical inclination with basic math and capability to convert fractural measurements to decimal.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in learning new aspects of the job, new equipment, new processes and scheduling: start times/overtime.
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced, team environment demonstrating cooperation, problem solving, customer service, creativity, flexibility and team building skills.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent.

MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience running and managing an offset press required, prefer at least 4 years demonstrated success.

Digital Bindery Operator

JOB PURPOSE and FUNCTION

Set up, operate and maintain various digital Bindery equipment including cutter, folder, shrink wrapper, UV coater, stitcher, padder etc. Produce a quality controlled product. Perform operator maintenance. Maintain a clean work area.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Follow schedule and instructions from department manager and shift supervisor. Read and follow instructions on job ticket. Correctly label finished product with the job number, form number, etc. Clearly mark all make ready and samples.
  • Conduct regular and special maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance based on equipment specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operations.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintains and records daily clean up and housekeeping of equipment and general area.
  • Other duties as assigned and may consist of assisting a peer department, to include but not limited to, assisting in the following departments: mailing, and specialty finishing.

Digital Print Operator

JOB PURPOSE and FUNCTION

Set up, operate and maintain various digital printing equipment. Produce a quality controlled product. Perform operator maintenance and work with phone support to troubleshoot issues. Maintain a clean work area. Monitor supply levels and assist with consumable orders.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Follow schedule and instructions from department manager and shift supervisor.
  • Read and follow instructions on job ticket.
  • Locate and use the correct substrates for jobs.
  • Ripping files produced from data and pre-press using digital print equipment.
  • Digitally manipulating color calibration set-up to meet expectations for color target.
  • While printing jobs quality inspect by making 100 sheet pulls. Inspect each one for any defects.
  • Correctly label finished product with the job number, form number, etc. Clearly mark all make ready and samples.
  • Conduct regular and special maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance based on equipment specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operations.
  • Monitor consumable supply and report to person responsible for placing orders.
  • Other duties as assigned and may consist of assisting a peer department, to include but not limited to, assisting in the following departments: mailing, specialty binder, specialty finishing and bindery.
